UBRA has been very good to me in the three years I’ve been a member. I originally joined just to enter the member-only sidepot at the Go For Broke race in Topeka, KS, then ended up attending enough races to place in the Combined Region Open 1D that year, and have joined every year since. My horses Harlans Dash (Chance), Behold He Reigns (Clifford), and JRS Lenas Letta Pep (Fred) have won a number of UBRA awards with help from Royal Red Streaker (Streak), a gelding I owned until July 2018, and a few of my husband’s horses. My team won both the Open 1D and 2D Combined Region championships in 2017, and Chance and Cliff repeated as 1D champions in 2018.

I enjoy attending UBRA approved races in eastern Kansas and western Missouri and love the fact that we get to choose our year-end awards so we get things we want, need, and can use. My horses have gotten Hidez suits, masks, and ice socks in past years, and Fred is getting a new winter blanket with our 2018 awards.
I’m excited to see the UBRA grow its presence in Kansas this year and will enjoy cheering everyone on at UBRA races during the months I’m unable to compete.
